About the event

Hridaya Yoga is a Spiritual Path to reveal the Spiritual Heart as the reality of your own Being.

It is based upon traditional spiritual principles and visions from Classical Yoga, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Advaita Vedanta, Tantra, Kashmir Shaivism - as well as drawing parallels with teachings from Sufism, Christianity, Buddhism and Taoism. The main methods used are - Hatha Yoga, techniques for quietening the mind and developing the ability to concentrate, and most importantly meditations for the revelation of the Spiritual Heart.

Hridaya is the Sanskrit word for Spiritual Heart, and rather than solely encompassing the physical heart or energetic heart, Hridaya in this instance is referred to as the Seat of the Self - the essential, ultimate, ineffable dimension of our Being - where we ask the Question Who Am I?

In Hridaya Yoga & Meditation there is a movement from using the heart as an object of knowledge, then as an instrument of knowledge, finally revealing itself as the very subject of knowledge.

During this precious One Day Hridaya Silent Meditation Retreat, we will unfold unto the infinite Stillness of the Spiritual Heart.

The Teachings will be spoken, although You are requested to remain in (Mauna) Silence in this beautifully held environment - to soak up the gift of both Outer and Inner Stillness.

The Retreat will be held at the serene and tranquil Hearth Retreat Centre in the heart of South Devon, just 15minutes drive from Totnes.

The Hearth is a peaceful, natural sanctuary where people come to rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect.

Sitting within 16 acres of verdant meadow and woodland, The Hearth Devon offers the opportunity to uncouple from the demands of daily life, find time for stillness and reflection, and realign mind, body, and spirit with nature.

For this One-Day Retreat, the Hearth Yurt will be our main hub, with access to the rest of the property, Hearthside, Barn and gardens.


For this Retreat we will also be ripe in the energies associated to Samhain - known for this time of deep introspection and a turning inwards before the fall of Winter’s cloak. We will use this One-Day Retreat therefore to take stock of the year thus far, and start the preparation, purification and re-alignment necessary in order enter in our winter nest fresh, light and inspired.
