Dartmoor Rose is the private practice of Turiya Rose, a BACP qualified Integrative Therapist.

I provide Integrative Therapy from South Devon, including in-person sessions at my private practice space on the Dartington Estate and online sessions via Zoom.

I only seek to collect information that is relevant and necessary for providing safe and appropriate therapeutic support.

Depending on the circumstances, I may rely on:

• Legitimate interests: where processing is necessary for the legitimate operation and administration of my private practice and does not override your rights and interests.

For therapeutic work, I may process information concerning your physical or mental health. This is special category data under the UK GDPR.

Where I process health information for the provision of therapy, I rely on the relevant lawful basis and special-category condition applicable to the provision of health or social care under UK data protection law.

I will only process special-category information where there is a lawful basis for doing so and where the processing is necessary and proportionate for the purpose for which it is collected.

 

5. Confidentiality and therapeutic information

Confidentiality is an important part of therapeutic work.

Information shared within therapy will normally be treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to other people without your knowledge and, where appropriate, your consent.

There are circumstances where confidentiality may need to be limited, for example where there is a serious and immediate concern regarding your safety or the safety of another person, where safeguarding obligations arise, where disclosure is required by law, or where information is required for legal or professional purposes.

Where possible, I will discuss any proposed disclosure with you beforehand.

As part of my professional practice, I may discuss aspects of my therapeutic work with an appropriately qualified clinical supervisor. Information shared in supervision is handled confidentially and only information necessary for professional supervision is discussed.

 

6. Who I may share information with

I will only share personal information where there is a lawful and appropriate reason to do so.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

• My clinical supervisor, for professional supervision

• Payment providers where necessary to process payments

• Website, email, booking or administrative service providers acting on my behalf

• Professional advisers such as an accountant or insurer, where necessary

• Healthcare professionals or other relevant professionals where this is necessary, lawful and appropriate

• Emergency services or other appropriate authorities where there is a serious and immediate risk to someone's safety

• Public authorities where I am legally required to provide information

I will not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

 

7. Online therapy

I offer online therapy using Zoom.

When using online therapy, some personal information may be processed by Zoom as a technology provider. I recommend that you review Zoom's own privacy information and use a private, secure environment when attending an online therapy session.

I do not record therapy sessions unless there is a specific, separately agreed and lawful reason to do so.

 

8. Website forms and communications

The Dartmoor Rose website currently provides contact and subscription forms.

If you submit an enquiry through the website, the information you provide will be used to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, arrange services with you.

If you subscribe to receive meditation recordings or other optional communications, your name and email address will be used to provide those communications.

You can unsubscribe from optional marketing or non-essential communications at any time.

Please avoid including highly sensitive or confidential therapeutic information in a website contact form. If you wish to discuss therapy, you can make a brief enquiry and we can arrange a more appropriate way to discuss your circumstances.

Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.

For example, your therapeutic records will be retained for a defined period of 7 years following the end of therapy and then securely deleted or destroyed.

Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or disposed of. You can ask me to delete your records at any time.

 

12. Your data protection rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights including:

• The right to be informed about how your personal information is used

• The right to request access to personal information I hold about you

• The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information

• The right to request deletion of your information in certain circumstances

• The right to request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
